Leonard SLATKIN (Conductor)
Internationally acclaimed conductor Leonard Slatkin is Music Director Laureate of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Directeur Musical Honoraire of the Orchestre National de Lyon, Conductor Laureate of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria. He maintains a rigorous schedule of guest conducting throughout the world and is active as a composer, author, and educator.
Slatkin has received six Grammy awards and 35 nominations. A recipient of the National Medal of Arts, he also holds the rank of Chevalier in the French Legion of Honor. He has received the Prix Charbonnier from the Federation of Alliances Françaises, Austria’s Decoration of Honor in Silver, the League of American Orchestras’ Gold Baton Award, and the 2013 ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for his debut book, Conducting Business. His second book, Leading Tones, was published by Amadeus Press in 2017, followed by Classical Crossroads in 2021. Two volumes of a series entitled Scores to Settle, comprising essays that supplement the score-study process, are scheduled for release by Rowman & Littlefield in 2024. He is also working on several new compositions.

Mayumi KANAGAWA (Violin)
A winner of the prestigious competitions including 4th prize in the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition as well as 2nd Prize and the best concerto prize at the 2018 Long-Thibaud Crespin Competition, Mayumi Kanagawa has collaborated with orchestras such as Prague Radio Symphony, Mariinsky Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Deutscher Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Finnish Radio Symphony, Belgian National Orchestra, Orchestre National des Pays de La Loire, Moscow Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, NHK Symphony, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and Yomiuri Nippon Symphony with conductors include Hannu Lintu, Sebastian Weigle, Yuri Simonov, Pascal Rophé, Vassily Sinaisky, Alexander Shelley, Hugh Wolff, Kahchun Wong, Tadaaki Otaka, Kazuhiro Koizumi, Michiyoshi Inoue and Junichi Hirokami. In 2023, her debut album “RECITAL” has been released.
She studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Kolja Blacher. Prior to moving to Berlin, she studied with Yoshiko Nakura, Masao Kawasaki and Robert Lipsett.
She performs on the 1725 “Wilhelmj” Stradivarius violin on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.
