TMSO and Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) exchange players for the 2025 Musician Exchange Programme

TMSO will send its 1st Violin Player Sayaka Kagei to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) in Singapore for October 13-23.
In 2009, TMSO and SSO initiated the Musician Exchange Programme to enhance the cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries by sending their musicians to participate in rehearsals, concerts and various other events of the counterpart-orchestra.


Sayaka Kagei, 1st Violin
Started playing the violin at the age of four and spent her childhood in Singapore, where she studied under Lik Wuk Chua.
After graduating from the Music High School attached to the Tokyo University of the Arts, she completed her studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts, where she was awarded the Acanthus Music Prize upon graduation and performed in the 90th Yomiuri Newcomer Concert.
She has participated in the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project, the Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Okushiga, and the Opera Academy led by Riccardo Muti.
She studied under Yasuko Otani.
In 2020, she joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, where she currently serves as a first violinist.
